The right of public access

In Sweden everyone has the right to be out in nature. We call it the right of public access. It is a unique benefit, which means a great deal of freedom. But it also requires responsibility and good judgment from us who use it.

We must not harm nature and wildlife. We must show consideration for landowners and other people out in nature. "Do Not Disturb, Do Not Destroy" is a short and good expression that easily summarizes how we should act.

The Bohusleden trail passes a number of nature reserves and conservation areas. The regulations vary for the different reserves.
