Fire and Fish

The rules regarding outdoor fires differ between municipalities. Contact the respective municipality's environmental management to hear what applies where you want to fire. When it is dry, one should be very careful about fires in the wild. A single spark can be enough to cause a fire with devastating consequences. It is therefore wise to have extinguishing equipment at hand. A bucket of water can suffice. The hiker must also be sure that there is no fire ban on the spot at the time. If you are unsure, call the emergency services or the municipality for information.

Along the entire Bohusleden trail you have good chances for a successful fishing. There are both large and small lakes with a rich fish fauna and flowing water. In the sea, fishing with hand gear is mostly free, but most lakes and rivers require fishing licenses or permission from landowners. Contact the local Fisheries Association, or the landowner where you want to fish, to find out what applies.

The regulations often vary between the various nature reserves. It is best to read and follow the regulations that are provided on site. You can also contact the County Administrative Board's conservation and fishing unit for information.
